Chicken PathiriIngredients for preparing Chicken pathiri

  • Wheat Flour (Atta)  -    ½   cup
  • Maida    -  ½   cup
  • Chicken: boneless  -  ½  Kg
  • Green Chillies  -    5  nos.
  • Onion: chopped  -  2  nos.
  • Garlic: chopped  -  1 ½   tbsp
  • Ginger: chopped  -  1 ½ tbsp
  • Chilli Powder    -  1 tsp
  • Turmeric Powder   -   ½  tsp
  • Coriander Leaves: chopped  -  2  stalks
  • Mint Leaves(Pudina): chopped  -  2  stalks
  • Oil    -  1  cup
  • Salt to taste    -  ½   tsp

Steps for preparing Chicken Pathiri

  1. Pressure cook the chicken with salt, turmeric powder and little water. When it is cooled down shred the chicken and keep it aside.
  2. In a pan heat oil, add chopped ginger, garlic, green chillies and onion. Saute well till golden brown. Then add chilli powder and garam masala stir well.
  3. Now add shredded chicken and saute for a while. Finally add chopped mint leaves, coriander leaves and salt. Thus the filling for the pathiri is ready. Keep it aside.
  4. In a bowl knead wheat flour and maida flour with salt and little water. Add water slowly and make soft dough.
  5. Make small balls out of this dough and roll out into circular shape like pathiri. Place some fillings in centre; cover it with another flattened dough ball (pathiri). Seal the edges using a mixture of maida and water.  Repeat the steps with the remaining dough balls.
  6. Deep fry it till two sides turn golden brown and transfer to a serving plate with paper tissue.
  7. Delicious chicken pathiri is ready to serve.
